Revenge of the Flower Girls

One bride. Two guys. Three flower girls who won’t forever hold their peace. What could go wrong with this wedding? Everything!

The Brewster triplets — Dawn, Darby, and Delaney — usually spend their summers eating ice cream, playing with their dog, and reading about the United States presidents. But this year they’re helping their big sister, Lily, plan her wedding. Lily used to date Alex, who was fun and nice and played trivia games with the triplets, and no one’s quite sure why they broke up. Burton, Lily’s groom-to-be, is not nice or fun, and he looks like an armadillo.

The triplets can’t stand to see Lily marry someone who’s completely wrong for her, so it’s up to them to stop the wedding before anyone says “I do”! The flower girls will stop at nothing to delay Lily’s big day, but will sprinklers, a photo slideshow, a muddy dog, and some unexpected allies be enough to prevent their big sister — and the whole Brewster family — from living unhappily ever after?

When we worry that someone we love might be in trouble, we will go to desperate measures to help them. Anything from lying to spying to possibly even putting ourselves in danger. Revenge of the Flower Girls is about going to such lengths – times three.

I’ve done extreme and embarrassing things in the name of love, but I’ve never created disasters the way the Brewster triplets do. Before taking drastic steps to help friends or family, we should pause and ask ourselves, “Is this what is best for them? Or is this what we want for them?” Because sometimes those things are the same, and sometimes they are very different.

Revenge of the Angels

The Triplets Will Show Everyone!

The Brewster triplets are back! It’s the most wonderful time of the year, but Dawn, Darby, and Delaney are facing nothing but disappointment. First, they’ve been told they won’t be getting the presents they had their hearts set on. Then, even after practicing looking wise and stroking long invisible beards, they end up not getting cast as the Three Wise Men in the annual pageant. Instead they are handed halos and wings and told they will be angels. They do not want to be angels!

When someone steals a priceless Santa doll from their favorite neighbor, it’s the last straw. It’s time to make some peace on earth and good will toward all – even if they have to resort to a little mayhem to achieve it. Can they protect their neighborhood, find the Santa-napper, finish their present shopping, and overcome their many disappointments? Or is their holiday spirit gone for good?

The holidays are supposed to be magical – right? Good food, presents, and … no school! But it’s also a stressful time. As we get older, we start to feel the pressure of shopping, baking, arranging schedules, and other responsibilities. The gifts we want are bigger and more complicated, and less likely to fit in a box.

Eventually, we grow wiser, and we realize the holidays aren’t about stuff. They’re about spreading love to those who are dear to us and reaching out to those in need. They’re a reminder of how we should behave throughout the year.

Revenge of the Happy Campers

Mother Nature Meets Sister Nature

Dawn, Darby, and Delaney Brewster are always up for an adventure, whether it’s ruining a wedding (for good reasons!) or turning a Christmas pageant tradition on its head. But now they’re about to go where they’ve never gone before: camping!

They’re spending spring break with their beloved Aunt Jane at the same campground she and their mom used to go to as kids. But the first morning there, they run into a trio of boys, and one starts bragging about his plan to become the President of the United States. Clearly this is Dawn’s destiny, and the two, well, don’t become fast friends.

Between the fierce competition to see who’s the best leader and some unfortunate encounters with nature, this camping thing is sure looking like a bad idea. And when their final contest puts them in real danger, it might take six future leaders of the country to keep this from being the worst trip in history.

It’s good to get away from it all occasionally — to unplug your devices and head into the great outdoors. No schedules. No homework. You are free to wander and wonder. Some might find this idea thrilling while others might find it scary.

Revenge of the Happy Campers is about overcoming fears and competing – against others, but also against yourself. Because even though winning feels good, what really matters is learning, growing, and pushing yourself to do better.

Revenge of the Teacher's Pets

The Triplets Are in a Class of Their Own!

The Brewster triplets have this whole school year figured out. They’ll share notes and books and help plan their big sister’s wedding (again!), and they’re all going to be on color guard. Smooth sailing through the seventh grade.

Only nothing goes right. They’re accidentally put on cheer squad instead of color guard. For the first time ever, the sisters are split into different classes – one of which Darby is failing because of her terrible participation grade. Meanwhile, Delaney finds a new passion and Dawn begins a crusade to fix what she feels is a shameful injustice at school.

Can the triplets take turns pretending to be Darby, plan a bridal shower for their beloved big sister, and stay out of the trouble Dawn keeps getting them into? And more importantly, can they do it without being split up for good?

When you love someone, does that mean you always have to like the same things? Does it mean you can’t hang out with other people? Should you have to pretend to be someone you aren’t in order to stay with a group?

Revenge of the Teacher’s Pets is about finding the courage to do the things that matter to you — even if that means doing it on your own. After all, we shouldn’t expect our loved ones to be copycat versions of us. When you really care about someone, you help each other be the best versions of your true selves.
